Carob trees produce pods that hold anywhere from five to 15 hard brown carob seeds that are surrounded by naturally sweet and edible pulp, a perfect snack for your rodent or rabbit.
Carob is also known as 'locust beans' and are rich in B vitamins, iron, magnesium and other minerals, and a very valuable source of calcium. They are sweet tasting and grow in the Mediterranean.
