This is the right size for an adult cat.

This is the "stretched" 80cm model, but it is actually the proper size for adult cats. My cat is a 3.6 kg adult male, which is relatively small, and he scratches right up to 5 cm from the top. Also he is older, so this is more comfortable for him to use his full body range of motion instead of having to duck down to fit himself.
